Software Engineer – SDN/NFV Solutions

About the role
Orange Business is seeking a Software Engineer to join the SDN/NFV team. You will collaborate with solution architects and developers to design, build, and deliver network‑automation software that meets customer requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse customer requirements together with the Solution Architect and define a suitable software architecture.
- Develop the solution using the selected frameworks and perform code quality analysis.
- Work with open‑source and commercial components, integrating them into the final product.
- Participate in regular progress review meetings with customers to track development and resolve issues.
- Build, test, and support the solution for production deployment.
- Produce technical documentation and user manuals for customer hand‑over.
- Contribute lessons learned, new ideas, and code back to the open‑source SDN/NFV community.
Required profile
- BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Communication Engineering.
- 3‑6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns and micro‑services architectures.
- Experience with XML, JSON, YAML, RESTful APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, gRPC and Protobuf.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python or Go.
- Hands‑on experience with Git, Gerrit, Maven, Make, GitLab and relational/NoSQL databases (SQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Redis).
- Solid Linux background and shell‑scripting skills.
- Passion for clean code, unit testing, automation and continuous delivery.
