Software Engineer – Testing (Automotive Embedded Systems)

About the role

Valeo is looking for a Software Engineer focused on testing automotive electronic control units (ECUs). You will work within an R&D team to design, execute and automate test cases, ensuring high‑quality software for next‑generation mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the understanding of system and software requirements under senior guidance.
• Design, implement and run manual and automated test cases for automotive ECUs.
• Participate in integration testing, debug issues, and collaborate with developers and testers.
• Document test results, prepare logs, reports and clearly record defects.
• Contribute to simple automation script development and use tools such as Python, Robot, ECU‑Test and CAPL.
• Follow team processes, attend daily/weekly meetings and adhere to automotive validation standards.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of embedded systems (microcontrollers, interfaces, basic C, debugging).
• Basic understanding of automotive software concepts (CAN, diagnostics, ECU lifecycle).
• Good grasp of software testing principles.
• Introductory scripting or automation experience (Python or similar).
• Effective communication, problem‑solving attitude and eagerness to learn.
• 0–2 years of experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
