Sr. Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend engineer to own and evolve the core payments platform of a fast‑scaling remittance fintech. You will design, build, ship, monitor, and continuously improve services that move real money for real people worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end ownership of high‑impact backend problems, from design through production.
• Build and maintain core platform services with high availability, correctness, and low latency.
• Deliver measurable improvements in latency, reliability, cost, and throughput.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, incident response, post‑mortems, and preventative fixes.
• Improve AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and best engineering practices.
• Raise engineering quality through code reviews, testing, documentation, and technical leadership.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of professional backend engineering experience (junior profiles not considered).
• Strong expertise in Kotlin or Java; solid TypeScript skills are also valued.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Terraform, and PostgreSQL – not just familiarity.
• Proven ability to write production‑grade code and design complex distributed systems.
