Strategic Sourcing Lead – Logistics

About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Lead specialized in Logistics to join GEP’s global procurement team. In this senior position you will drive category strategy, lead sourcing initiatives and manage supplier relationships to deliver cost savings and operational excellence for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support category managers with strategy plans, sourcing execution and strategic sourcing tasks.
• Identify and engage stakeholders including suppliers, project sponsors, end‑users and internal functions such as HR, Legal and Finance.
• Leverage GEP’s network of category experts and tools to provide insights for projects and clients.
• Develop negotiation strategies, validate levers with stakeholders and lead negotiations to achieve savings and timely supply.
• Manage supplier selection activities (RFI, RFP, RFQ, scorecards, bid analysis) and oversee supplier management processes.
• Utilize SMART by GEP® technology and client ERP systems for procurement operations.
• Continuously improve processes, reduce turnaround times and streamline SOPs.
• Lead a small to medium‑sized team and participate in recruitment and mentorship of junior colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing within the Logistics category, including knowledge of industry trends, suppliers and legal frameworks.
• Strong understanding of large‑scale centralized purchasing principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage all management levels.
• Strong analytical, reporting and presentation abilities for baseline creation, performance tracking and savings reporting.
• Experience leading negotiations and managing supplier relationships.
• Leadership experience managing a small/medium team and mentoring junior staff.
