Teaching Assistant – Computer Science and Engineering

About the role

The German University in Cairo’s Department of Computer Science & Engineering is seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant to support its undergraduate programmes. You will work closely with faculty to reinforce lecture material, guide students through practical exercises and oversee project work. The role offers an interactive teaching environment combined with cutting‑edge research opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate discussion of concepts presented in lectures and encourage critical thinking among students.
• Motivate students, provide constructive feedback on assignments, and develop and grade exams.
• Supervise and mentor student projects, laboratory work, and one‑on‑one tutoring sessions.
• Assist in preparing and delivering tutorial sessions and coordinate with faculty on curriculum updates.
• Maintain records of student progress and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• “Excellent” or “Very Good” graduation grade.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent presentation abilities and demonstrated skill in explaining complex technical topics clearly.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse student groups.
