Teaching Assistant – Finance

About the role

The German International University seeks a dynamic Teaching Assistant to support undergraduate finance courses. You will work closely with faculty to deliver high‑quality instruction and assist students in mastering course material.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate finance lectures, administer exams and assign grades.
• Attend and observe assigned course sessions.
• Coordinate instructional efforts with the course supervisor.
• Prepare and organise tutorial materials.
• Grade assignments, projects and examinations.
• Hold office hours, respond to student emails and provide academic support.
• Record student performance and attendance as required.
• Participate in staff meetings, committees and other administrative duties.

Required profile

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (teaching experience preferred).
• Ability to work independently and manage groups of students.
• Enthusiastic about student engagement and learning.
• Strong organisational, flexibility and creativity.
• Capability to handle challenging behaviour and build good relationships.
• Familiarity with common software applications for academic work.
