Teaching Assistant

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Cairo is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support teachers and students. The role provides assistance inside and outside the classroom, helps students understand and complete their assignments, and keeps the environment safe, productive and clean. It is listed under the Administration department.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily schedules, keeping students focused and engaged during lessons, and help correct and review students' work.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and make sure attendance forms are collected and submitted on time.
• Prepare classroom displays, games and visual materials such as bulletin boards, and keep the classroom safe, clean and organized.
• Reinforce class and school rules and promote positive behaviour.
• Teach proper hygiene and help with clothes changes in case of an accident.
• Document student progress and communicate with the Academic Quality Controller when needed; file notes in reading folders and check for updates each morning.
• Prepare for, supervise and clean up after snack or lunch times, and assist with food distribution.
• Supervise students during outdoor play, nap or quiet time, and accompany students to class and help with Morning Care.
• Encourage participation, assist with reading activities and word cards, and prepare and clean up after art classes.
• Help with school events, trips and activities, and carry out other tasks delegated by the School Management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• English proficiency.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Successful completion of criminal background and reference checks, and skills testing if required.
