Technical Office Engineer – Furniture Industry

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Office Engineer to join our furniture manufacturing team. Based on-site, you will support the design, procurement and production processes for upholstery and furniture projects, ensuring technical accuracy and feasibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and coordinate detailed shop drawings, technical sections, joinery details and assembly plans.
• Conduct quantity surveys, BOQ preparation and first‑article inspections before mass production.
• Perform time studies and value engineering to optimise material costs without compromising quality.
• Create exploded assembly guides (knock‑down drawings) for site installation teams.
• Take accurate on‑site measurements and resolve technical issues on the workshop floor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts (Interior & Furniture Design), Interior Engineering or Architecture.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a technical office role within furniture manufacturing (home, office or hospitality projects).
• Strong eye for detail and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

Required skills

• Full proficiency in AutoCAD (2D).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks, SketchUp or 3ds Max.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools for workflow automation (optional).
• In‑depth knowledge of wood types, modern hardware systems, upholstery fabrics and related chemical materials.
