Technical Office Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt LLC is looking for a Technical Office Engineer in Cairo to provide technical support and coordination for railway signaling and telecommunication projects. The role covers preparing technical documentation, managing project data and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications and other project documentation.
• Support the project team in developing engineering designs and solutions.
• Manage project documentation, including design changes, submittals and approvals.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and construction departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review contractor submittals and check adherence to project requirements and standards.
• Take part in site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare reports and presentations on project status, technical challenges and proposed solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies.
• Support tendering by helping with technical evaluations and proposal preparation.
• Maintain accurate records of technical communications and decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a technical office role, preferably in railway, infrastructure or construction.
• Strong understanding of railway signaling and telecommunication systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills in English.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, teamwork and problem-solving under pressure.
