On-Board Work Package Manager

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt is looking for an On-Board Work Package Manager in Cairo, working full time and assisting the Project Manager. The role manages and coordinates internal teams such as Control Account Managers and Work Package Managers, and external teams such as customers, suppliers, subcontractors and partners, covering sales, finance and contract management. It covers the 98 trains included in the CML 1 scope.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical, commercial and planning activities for the 98 trains, including their requirements, design, supply and installation.
• Act as Hitachi's representative in relation to Alstom, CAF and Rotem.
• Manage claims to support the Project Manager and Contract Manager.
• Establish and update the project requirements baseline with CBTC and OPPS-ICS On-Board activities, and the execution baseline (structure, work packages, partners, contracts, plans, costs, budgets, resourced schedule).
• Set up project key decision data (contingencies, strategy, business case) and control requirements, costs and schedule throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage project quality, customer and stakeholder satisfaction, and legal and contractual requirements including disputes.
• Hold regular progress review meetings and report progress to senior management.

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years of experience.
• Railway construction background and/or railway signalling.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Strong organization and leadership skills, and the ability to manage resources in an international environment.
• Business-oriented, with extensive client and stakeholder management experience.

Required skills

• Electrical, telecom or signalling engineering preferred; civil engineering also mentioned.
• Ability to work in a complex, multidisciplinary organization.
