Technical Office Engineer (Mechanical)

About the role

Archirodon, an international EPC contractor active for more than half a century in energy, marine, infrastructure and defence and security projects, is looking for a Technical Office Engineer (Mechanical) to join its Regional Office in New Cairo, Egypt.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and prepare detailed reports based on the findings.
• Perform quantity surveying for mechanical equipment and materials related to HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Prepare the scope of work for mechanical disciplines (HVAC, firefighting, plumbing).
• Prepare cost estimations covering labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for tender-stage and awarded projects, based on design requirements and quantity take-offs.
• Prepare material submittals in line with specifications and obtain consultant approval.
• Develop detailed shop drawings in coordination with other disciplines.
• Carry out the necessary mechanical calculations for the mechanical systems.
• Maintain knowledge of international standards and codes such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, NPC and ASPE.
• Coordinate with procurement so that material delivery schedules match the project timeline.
• Provide technical support to the site team on site issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in at least two completed projects of similar scope and complexity; international project experience is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of HVAC systems, firefighting systems and water and sewage networks.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
