Telecom Technician – Cairo Metro Line 3

About the role

The Telecom Technician will ensure the optimal operation of all telecommunications systems across Cairo Metro Line 3, including stations, tunnels and depots. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, fault troubleshooting, equipment installation and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on telecom systems such as telephone, CCTV, public‑information displays (PIS), intercom, fire detection and clock systems.
• Respond promptly to faults and perform emergency repairs to minimise service interruptions.
• Install, test and commission telecom equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
• Carry out safety checks, diagnostic tests and use specialised test equipment to calibrate and repair devices.
• Assist supervisors in daily activities, supervise subcontractors and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance work.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, order supplies and keep tools and testing equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations and promote a positive safety culture.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
• Vocational training or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of telecom/light‑current systems such as CCTV, PIS, intercom, fire alarms and radio.
• Basic networking knowledge.
