Transportation Manager - Cairo or Alexandria

About the role

Sutherland Egypt is looking for an experienced Transportation Manager based in Cairo or Alexandria. The role manages and optimizes transportation operations across Egypt, ensuring goods move in a timely, safe, cost-effective and compliant way. It covers fleet management, transport planning, driver supervision, vendor coordination, cost control and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily transport activities and vehicle utilization across Egypt
• Manage company-owned and third-party fleets, including maintenance, fuel consumption, licensing, insurance and vehicle availability
• Optimize delivery routes, schedules and load utilization to cut transit time and operating costs
• Supervise drivers and transport staff, monitor attendance and performance, and enforce safety procedures
• Prepare transport budgets, monitor operating expenses and implement cost-saving measures
• Coordinate with transport subcontractors, freight forwarders, suppliers and logistics service providers
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian traffic laws, transport regulations, vehicle documentation and health and safety standards
• Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, vehicle downtime, accident rates and cost per delivery
• Liaise with warehouse, sales, procurement and customer service teams, and prepare regular operational reports, budget forecasts and incident reports
• Develop standard operating procedures and systems to improve productivity and service quality

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 5 years of experience in IT / BPO transportation, logistics or fleet management, preferably 2-3 years in a managerial role
• Experience managing a fleet of commercial vehicles and coordinating third-party transport providers
• Good knowledge of Egyptian transportation regulations, road safety requirements and vehicle documentation
• Fluency in Arabic and working proficiency in English preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems (TMS)
• Planning, analytical, negotiation, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transport operations at once
