Water Treatment Engineer (Mechanical Focus)

About the role

The Water Treatment Engineer will design and develop mechanical and process systems for water and wastewater treatment projects. You will work on current projects, contribute to proposals for future work, and ensure technical compliance across all design stages.

Key responsibilities

• Perform water balance calculations and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Size pipelines and carry out process and mechanical design calculations.
• Create detailed water treatment plant and power plant cycle chemistry drawings.
• Review vendor submittals and prepare technical specifications and tender documents.
• Conduct technical evaluations of offers, process selection studies, and techno‑economic analyses.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and interdisciplinary interfaces.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Power focus); postgraduate studies are a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical systems design for water/wastewater or related industries.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards affecting mechanical design drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings from multiple disciplines.
