Wayside Work Package Manager

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt is looking for a Wayside Work Package Manager in Cairo. Working alongside the Project Manager, the role manages and coordinates internal teams such as Control Account Managers and Work Package Managers, and external teams such as customers, suppliers, subcontractors and partners, including sales, finance and contract management. The scope covers the Wayside (Track Side and Infrastructure) included in the CML 1 project.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure successful project execution and contribute to preparing and organizing the Wayside Work Package.
• Act as Hitachi's representative with Orascom and Colas on all Wayside activities, and with the Operator ECM.
• Manage technical, commercial and planning activities, and oversee the full execution of requirements, design, supply and installation of the Wayside scope.
• Manage claims to support the Project Manager and Contract Manager.
• Establish and update the project requirements baseline with CBTC and OPPS-ICS, and the execution baseline (structure, work packages, contracts, plans, costs, budgets, schedules).
• Set up the project: identify stakeholders, set up the team, start activities and allocate requirements.
• Control requirements, costs and schedule throughout the project life cycle, manage quality and stakeholder satisfaction, and handle legal and contractual matters including disputes.
• Hold regular progress review meetings and report to senior management, keeping customer satisfaction at the focus.

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years of experience.
• Civil engineering background and/or railway construction and signalling experience.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Ability to manage resources in an international environment and to work in a complex, multidisciplinary organization.
