WHS Specialist – Workplace Health & Safety

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Specialist to protect associates across its quick‑commerce operations. The role focuses on reducing health and safety risks in dark‑store environments, rider activities and material handling, while supporting a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits and safety audits in dark stores, rider dispatch areas and material‑handling zones, providing practical recommendations.
• Perform risk assessments, monitor safety performance metrics and incident data, and report trends to prioritize risk areas.
• Support the rollout of new safety controls, procedures and mitigation measures tailored to rapid‑picking processes.
• Lead daily/weekly safety briefings, stand‑ups and discussions with operations teams and third‑party partners.
• Investigate accidents, near‑misses and serious injuries, document root‑cause analyses and track corrective actions.
• Verify completion and effectiveness of safety training for associates, riders and third‑party partners through observations and audits.
• Represent quick‑commerce safety risks in regional WHS meetings and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Act as onboarding buddy for new WHS team members and serve as WHS Manager proxy when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting safety audits and risk assessments in fast‑paced, high‑throughput environments.
• Ability to analyse safety metrics, incident data and leading indicators to identify trends.
• Strong communication skills for delivering safety briefings and collaborating with operations and third‑party partners.
• Experience supporting incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action tracking.
• Familiarity with local WHS regulations and Amazon’s supply‑chain safety policies.
