Work Package Manager - Telecom and CCS Projects

About the role

Hitachi Rail GTS Egypt is looking for a Work Package Manager in Cairo to assist the Project Manager. The role manages and coordinates internal teams such as Control Account Managers and Work Package Managers, and external teams such as customers, suppliers, subcontractors and partners, covering sales, finance and contract management. The scope covers the Telecom and Centralized Control (CCS) work package within the CML 1 project.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure successful project execution and prepare and organize the Telecom and CCS work package
• Act as Hitachi's representative with Telecom and CCS, with NAT and with the Operator ECM
• Manage technical, commercial and planning activities, and oversee requirements, design, supply, installation, testing and claims
• Plan activities and establish and update the project requirements baseline and execution baseline (structure, work packages, partners, contracts, plans, costs, budgets, schedules)
• Update key decision data such as contingencies, strategy and business case
• Initialize the project: identify stakeholders, set up the team, structure the project and allocate requirements
• Control requirements, costs and schedule throughout the project life cycle
• Manage project quality, customer and stakeholder satisfaction, and legal and contractual requirements including disputes
• Hold regular progress review meetings and report to senior management

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years of experience
• Background in Telecom / Electrical / Network Design Engineering
• Railway construction and/or railway signalling background
• Fluency in Arabic and English
• Strong organization and leadership skills, resource management in an international environment, and extensive client and stakeholder management
