World History Teacher AY26-27

About the role

Westview International Language School is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable World History Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The teacher will inspire high school students to understand global historical events and trends through an engaging and dynamic curriculum, working on site in the school's department.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans covering a wide range of world history topics aligned with the British curriculum.
• Use diverse teaching methods to engage students and encourage critical analysis of historical events and their impact on the modern world.
• Assess student progress regularly with various tools and give timely, constructive feedback.
• Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters inquiry, discussion and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Collaborate with other faculty to integrate interdisciplinary themes into the learning experience.
• Organize and take part in extracurricular activities such as history clubs, debates or cultural events.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians about student achievements and areas for improvement.
• Keep up with professional development and curriculum developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in History, Education or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in the British curriculum or an international school setting.
• Strong knowledge of world history and the ability to make historical concepts relevant and engaging for secondary students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Student-centered teaching approaches that meet diverse learning needs.
• Teaching certification such as a PGCE is an advantage.
