Account Director – Client & Event Management

About the role

The Account Director leads the account management function for the El Gouna Film Festival, overseeing client relationships and ensuring the delivery of high‑impact events that exceed expectations. Reporting to the CCO/CEO, the role combines strategic planning, commercial growth and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with CCO/CEO on strategic planning and portfolio development, identifying industry trends and upselling opportunities.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key clients, acting as primary escalation point and translating client needs into clear briefs.
• Oversee the handover from business development to account management, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables across creative, production and operations teams.
• Review and approve major client deliverables such as presentations, concepts and budgets before submission.
• Document client deliverables, lessons learned and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer.
• Approve annual departmental budget, set goals, and conduct competency‑based performance reviews for direct reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field (MBA a plus).
• 10+ years of experience in account management, preferably within events, advertising or experiential marketing.
• Proven leadership experience managing client‑facing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of revenue growth and client retention.
