Accountant – Financial Services

About the role

The accountant will manage daily accounting operations for a financial services institution, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards and tax regulations. The role supports month‑end closing, tax filing, and audit activities while collaborating with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Record all financial transactions in the accounting system and maintain up‑to‑date ledgers.
• Perform ongoing bank reconciliations and assist with monthly closing activities.
• Submit tax filings on ETA platforms (e‑invoicing, e‑receipt) in a timely manner.
• Review supplier invoices for accuracy and prepare payment requests with proper authorisation.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, calculate monthly depreciation and support physical counts.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and resolving findings.
• Ensure proper filing, documentation, and archiving of all financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1–3+ years of experience, preferably in non‑bank financial institutions such as micro‑finance, leasing or mortgage finance.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and Egyptian tax regulations.
• Familiarity with ETA e‑invoicing and e‑receipt systems.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills (lookup functions, IF statements, basic data analysis).
• Understanding of FRA reporting requirements (preferred).
