Accountant – Import/Export & Taxation

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to oversee day‑to‑day accounting, taxation, and import/export documentation for our operations in Egypt. The role combines core financial responsibilities with logistics‑related accounting and ensures full statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records, process sales, purchases, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and inter‑company reconciliations; manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly and year‑end financial closing reports.
• Review and record import/export documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with logistics teams, freight forwarders and customs brokers to verify landed costs and shipment‑wise costing.
• Prepare and support VAT, withholding tax, income tax and corporate tax filings in line with Egyptian regulations.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax consultants and government authorities during audits and compliance reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in trading, import/export, logistics or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with import/export procedures and customs documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
