Accountant (remote)

About the role

Nexus Analytica is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting and financial administration for its Egypt operations. The role is fully remote and involves maintaining accurate records, invoicing, expense management, and ensuring compliance with Egyptian tax and VAT regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete accounting records in Odoo, including journal entries, general ledger, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, manage accounts‑receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
• Review supplier invoices, process payments, and reconcile accounts‑payable.
• Handle employee expense verification, VAT calculations, and Egyptian tax filings.
• Perform bank reconciliations, monthly closing activities, and produce financial reports for management.
• Act as functional owner of accounting processes within Odoo, ensuring data quality and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in Egypt.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards, VAT, withholding tax, and electronic invoicing.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Odoo ERP (strongly preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and monthly financial closing.
