Accountant (remote)

About the role

The company seeks an experienced Accountant to own day‑to‑day accounting and financial administration for its Egypt operations. This remote position involves maintaining accurate records, handling invoicing, ensuring tax compliance, and supporting monthly closings.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete accounting records in Odoo, including journal entries, general ledger, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, manage accounts‑receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
• Review supplier invoices, process payments, and reconcile supplier statements.
• Handle employee expense verification, ensure policy compliance, and process reimbursements.
• Perform bank reconciliations, manage cash, credit‑card, and advance accounts.
• Prepare VAT calculations, filings, and support corporate income‑tax preparation.
• Maintain electronic invoicing compliance with Egyptian tax authority.
• Record payroll‑related entries and coordinate with HR/payroll advisers.
• Allocate revenues and costs to projects, support project cost reporting, and assist with monthly closing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in Egypt.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards, VAT, withholding tax and electronic invoicing.
• Experience with ERP systems, especially Odoo.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
