AI & Automation Engineer (Light)

About the role

Valeo is seeking an AI & Automation Engineer (Light) to drive AI‑enabled automation across system engineering, mechanics and electrotechnics. The role bridges hardware, software and mechanical teams, ensuring AI solutions are traceable, compliant and production‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI workflows that connect systems engineering with downstream HW, SW and mechanical disciplines.
• Develop Physics‑Informed Machine Learning models to accelerate mechanics and electrotechnics simulations.
• Integrate AI‑assisted coding, automated unit testing and bug‑prediction tools into the ASPICE‑compliant development pipeline.
• Build predictive analytics dashboards for project managers to forecast resource bottlenecks, budget risks and milestone delays.
• Ensure all AI‑automated processes meet ISO 26262 functional safety and ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity standards.
• Lead integration of AI agents with existing toolchains such as PLM, Codebeamer ALM and MATLAB/Simulink.

Required skills

• AI and Machine Learning, including Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Predictive modeling, computer vision, and physics‑informed ML.
• Data engineering, pipeline construction and quality assurance.
• MLOps, workflow orchestration and deployment of AI tools.
• Programming in Python, JavaScript and Google Apps Script; experience with HTTP REST APIs.
• Tooling knowledge of Codebeamer, Google Cloud Platform, MATLAB/Simulink, PLM and ALM environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434 and ASPICE compliance requirements.
