Android Developer

About the role

We are looking for a talented Android Developer to join dru’s fast‑growing health‑tech team in Cairo. You will help build and enhance our lifestyle and health management app that supports diabetic, pre‑diabetic and obese users across the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality Android applications for the dru platform.
• Implement new features, optimise performance and fix bugs.
• Integrate third‑party services and medical devices such as continuous glucose monitors.
• Collaborate with product, design and backend teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for mobile security and architecture.
• Continuously improve existing functionalities and support regular releases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with modern Android architectures (e.g., MVVM), Jetpack components and Git.
• Understanding of mobile security, performance optimisation and UI/UX best practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in health‑tech or with medical device integration is a plus.
