Android Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Android Software Engineer to join BUCHI’s mobile‑first strategy, creating native Android applications that support our global laboratory‑equipment business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test native Android apps using Kotlin and Java.
• Interpret business and technical requirements independently and deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.
• Work with a modular codebase, pull‑request workflow, structured branching and thorough documentation.
• Maintain focus on performance, architecture, best practices and compliance.
• Participate in a fast, agile development process and collaborate with peers on testing and automation.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience developing native Android applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with modern Android architectural patterns such as MVI and MVVM.
• Familiarity with third‑party libraries, e.g., Room database.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs.
• Knowledge of dependency injection frameworks.
