Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

About the role

Rixos Hotels Egypt is looking for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to control and run the food and beverage operations of its hotel. The role ensures operations follow the principles set by hotel management, manages the F&B department and supports the Food and Beverage Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Control and monitor food and beverage operations, set targets and communicate them to staff, ensuring decisions are implemented
• Manage all business and functions of the F&B department and ensure high-quality food and beverage service
• Control sales and costs, display quality and service standards, and maintain utensils and equipment
• Run activities that improve customer satisfaction and consolidate business relationships within the department
• Handle recruitment, performance upgrades, leadership, disciplinary action and business follow-up
• Prepare training programmes and organise meetings to gather data and achieve results
• Work with department managers to deliver successful results for the hotel
• Support the Food and Beverage Manager with finance, standards, training, outlets and entertainment, and promote sales and banquet business
• Monitor work schedules and performance assessments of supervisors and employees, and implement decisions from management meetings
• Maintain good relations with suppliers and resolve employee issues to foster teamwork
• Take part in the Food Safety Team and MR meetings, and follow quality management and food safety systems
• Follow environmental and energy-saving measures, including waste reduction and safe handling of chemicals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (4-year)
• At least 10 years of experience in the industry
• Sufficient English to communicate with guests and employees
• Comprehensive theoretical and practical background, with attendance at courses and seminars in the field
• Good knowledge of the legislation, laws and procedures applicable to the job and the department
