Associate Environmental Consultant

About the role

The Associate Environmental Consultant will lead and manage complex environmental and social projects across Africa, with a primary focus on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) processes in Egypt. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory authorities and clients to deliver high‑quality, compliant project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage large‑scale ESIA projects for mining, renewables and infrastructure sectors.
• Coordinate the preparation of ESIA reports and related documentation.
• Facilitate public and stakeholder engagement processes.
• Consult with regulatory authorities, including the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA).
• Oversee translation and localisation of project documents.
• Administer overall project delivery, ensuring timeliness, quality, safety and budget compliance.
• Liaise with clients, specialists and authorities throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in mining, renewables or infrastructure environmental consulting.
• B.Sc. (Hons) or Master’s degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage large ESIA projects proactively.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian environmental legislation and processes.
• Experience working with the EEAA and other regulatory bodies.

Required skills

• Expertise in ESIA methodologies and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles and World Bank Safeguards.
• Project management and resource allocation.
• Stakeholder engagement and public consultation.
• Regulatory compliance and document translation oversight.
