Aviation Instructor / Program Coordinator

About the role

The Louisiana State University of Alexandria seeks a qualified Aviation Instructor and Program Coordinator to join its Academic Affairs department. This faculty position involves teaching aviation courses and overseeing the program’s curriculum, student advising, and outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 12 hours per week of aviation instruction, covering both ground and flight courses at lower and upper levels.
• Advise aviation students on degree progress and FAA certification pathways.
• Monitor and assess curriculum effectiveness, proposing improvements as needed.
• Assist in recruiting new students and building relationships with regional aviation organizations and companies.
• Participate in university committees and provide community service when required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aviation, or a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation with at least 15 years of instructor experience at a reputable flight school.
• Strong communication abilities and a talent for motivating students.
• Self‑motivated, cooperative, flexible, and creative.

Required skills

• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
• Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII)
• Multi‑Engine Instructor (MEI)
