Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Payr is looking for a full‑time remote Backend Engineer to help build and maintain scalable back‑end services for its rent‑payment platform. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design reliable software that supports millions of monthly transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain backend components using Python and Django.
• Design database schemas and optimise queries in PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to ensure seamless integration.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Contribute to code reviews and uphold best practices for clean, maintainable code.

Required profile

• Proven experience in back‑end web development, preferably with Python/Django.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote team.
• Experience in fintech or payment‑system development is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
