BIM Electrical Team Leader

About the role

The BIM Electrical Team Leader will head the electrical BIM discipline, ensuring the delivery of accurate, coordinated models, shop drawings and technical documentation for construction projects. Reporting to senior project management, the role bridges design, engineering and construction teams to meet project schedules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and allocate work for BIM Electrical Engineers and Modelers across multiple projects.
• Review and approve electrical BIM models, shop drawings and documentation in line with the BIM Execution Plan and project specifications.
• Coordinate clash detection and model integration with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and fire‑protection disciplines using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Resolve multidisciplinary clashes, respond to consultant comments and ensure timely resubmission of deliverables.
• Maintain model quality through regular audits, support construction teams with technical clarifications, and assist in quantity take‑offs.
• Participate in design coordination meetings, identify value‑engineering opportunities and report project risks and resource needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of experience working with BIM in the construction sector.
• Proven experience leading BIM teams and managing multidisciplinary coordination.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Navisworks for clash detection and model coordination.
• Autodesk certifications related to BIM workflows.
• Strong knowledge of BIM standards, Level of Development (LOD) and Level of Information (LOI).
