Cashier – Payment Processing & Customer Service

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for handling all payment transactions and providing front‑line assistance to customers. You will ensure accurate cash handling, maintain a tidy register area, and support customers with payment‑related inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Receive payments in cash, checks, wire transfers, and credit cards for goods or services.
• Assist customers with questions about payments, account balances, and purchased items.
• Handle escalated customer inquiries and resolve complex issues.
• Balance cash at the end of each shift and achieve zero variance on shrinkage.
• Perform general cashier duties such as scanning items, collecting and verifying payments, especially during peak periods.
• Retrieve payment due information, review account history, and create new customer accounts as needed.
• Prepare vouchers, receipts, deposit slips, and other cash‑transaction documentation.
• Maintain a neat and well‑stocked register/counter area.
• Validate point‑redemption balances for credit‑card transactions against bank reports.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of cash handling or retail experience.
• Graduate degree is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Knowledge of POS (Point‑of‑Sale) systems.
• Understanding of invoicing processes.
