Category Buyer (Sheet Metal)

About the role

The Category Buyer for Sheet Metal will be the single point of contact between Schneider and its sheet‑metal suppliers. Based at the Badr Plant in Egypt, you will ensure business continuity, drive category strategy and support digital and sustainable initiatives across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and act as the main SPOC for the assigned supplier base.
• Collect ETO specifications, define qualification criteria and contribute to category segmentation.
• Develop and execute the Annual Procurement Operational Plan (APOP) in line with global and plant strategies.
• Negotiate global frame agreements and monitor supplier competitiveness and readiness.
• Build supplier development plans in collaboration with Global Category, SLD and quality teams.
• Drive productivity actions using the iSave tool and improve cash flow through DTDD‑DPO initiatives.
• Coordinate with project buyers to support cost‑competitive proposals and ensure business continuity.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering background with solid experience in sheet‑metal manufacturing.
• 4‑6 years of procurement management experience, capable of defining category strategy.
• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or a related field is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate complex organisations and build strong networks.
