Category Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Category Specialist to support the growth and performance of assigned categories. Working closely with the Senior Category Manager, you will manage day‑to‑day category operations, supplier relationships and commercial initiatives to achieve business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily performance of assigned categories, monitoring sales, GMV, gross margin and key KPIs.
• Support development and execution of category growth plans and identify profitability improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, coordinating pricing updates, promotions, product launches and commercial activities.
• Negotiate commercial terms such as payment, rebates, credit and promotional agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, purchase orders, stock availability and resolve operational issues.
• Analyze category performance, SKU productivity, assortment gaps, pricing competitiveness and customer demand.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and market analysis, preparing weekly and monthly performance reports.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Category Management, Commercial, Buying, Retail, E‑commerce or FMCG.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
