Chief Engineer

About the role

As a Chief Engineer at Hilton, you will lead the engineering and maintenance functions of a hotel, ensuring that all physical assets operate safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for delivering memorable guest experiences through reliable facilities and proactive energy initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, supervise and mentor the engineering team, conducting performance evaluations and fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Oversee maintenance of building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and life‑safety systems, coordinating inspections and ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.
• Manage daily maintenance operations via the property maintenance management system, prioritising tasks, resolving service requests, guest concerns and emergencies.
• Support capital projects and property rehabilitations, handling scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding and permitting while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement property‑wide energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs.
• Monitor engineering KPIs, equipment upkeep, audit results and team productivity, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership on evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage and other safety protocols.
