Controls Engineer II

About the role

Advansys is hiring a Controls Engineer II for its Digitization department, working in a hybrid setup. The engineer designs and develops control system hardware and electrical drawings, supports PLC control systems and provides technical support from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop control system hardware and electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams and control system documentation.
• Support the development, modification and troubleshooting of PLC control systems.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting and validation to meet project requirements.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and start-up at customer sites when required.
• Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, mechanical and project engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot control hardware, PLC and electrical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings against project standards and specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in controls engineering, industrial automation or a similar field.
• Previous commissioning experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel for site installation, commissioning and customer support.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on AutoCAD experience for electrical/control system design.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting knowledge; Allen-Bradley PLC experience is a strong advantage.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, and good communication and teamwork.
