About the role

Four Seasons Cairo at The First Residence is hiring a cook. The hotel sits in the First Mall complex in Giza, near the Nile and the zoological gardens, and offers 269 units, a pool, spa and fitness centre, and 11 food and beverage venues.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food items to order to a consistent quality, following recipe cards and production, portion and presentation standards, and complete mise en place and set up stations for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner (40%).
• Start food items prepared ahead of time, making sure they are not prepared beyond estimated needs (20%).
• Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, mixers, ovens, steam tables, waffle irons and flat-top grills (10%).
• Date and rotate food containers, keep perishables at the right temperature, check par levels, control food waste and loss and help fix food cost problems (10%).
• Follow the hotel's work rules and standards of conduct, and work professionally with colleagues and supervisors (20%).

Required profile

• More than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to operate computer equipment and department systems.
• Reading, writing and speaking English.
