Industrial Safety Technician

About the role

Rixos Radamis in Sharm El Sheikh is looking for a full-time Industrial Safety Technician. The role protects the hotel against fires and natural disasters, trains staff in safety matters and takes part in emergency response and fire-fighting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Protect the hotel against fires and natural disasters and train employees in this area
• Inform the chief engineer on safety issues and ensure all staff follow occupational health and safety measures
• Take part in the Emergency Response Teams and the Fire Extinguishing Team
• Conduct audits and investigations at hazardous waste sites and industrial sites, and investigate accidents and health-related complaints
• Deliver safety training for existing and new staff, coordinate right-to-know programmes on hazardous chemicals and develop hygiene programmes
• Inspect workplaces, equipment and fire prevention, safety and first-aid equipment, and check ventilation, lighting and other conditions affecting health and comfort
• Maintain emergency response plans, hazardous material inventories and waste tracking records, and prepare hazardous, radioactive and mixed waste samples for transport
• Suspend activities that threaten workers' health and safety, and recommend safer work methods and processes
• Implement energy-saving measures and environmental protection actions, and carry out quality management and food safety duties
• Carry out other duties assigned by managers and hotel management

Required profile

• At least a technical high school or vocational diploma
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
• Intermediate level English
• Background in courses and seminars on safety, and training under domestic work laws
• Good command of safety developments and practices, with ability to advise colleagues
