Cost Accountant – Pricing & Import Cost Specialist

About the role

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for calculating product costs, landed import costs, and pricing strategies for a range of electrical products. You will work closely with procurement and sales teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and competitive pricing.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate actual cost of each product, including lamps, panels, switches, sockets, exhaust fans and ceiling fans.
• Determine complete landed cost of imported items, covering purchase price, freight, customs duties, clearance fees and other expenses.
• Allocate freight, customs and overhead costs fairly across products and monitor cost component changes.
• Prepare and maintain wholesale, semi‑wholesale and retail/technician price levels for each product.
• Monitor competitor and market prices in Egyptian electrical markets and produce regular price comparison reports.
• Recommend promotional offers, discounts and product bundles while protecting target profit margins.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in cost accounting and pricing.
• Background in electrical products, sanitary ware, building materials, trading or import companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with an Accounting major.
• Strong analytical, numerical skills and high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis).
• Knowledge of import costing, customs duties, freight and clearance expenses.
• Experience with ERP/Accounting systems such as Odoo or Daftra.
