Costing Section Head – Construction

About the role

The Costing Section Head will lead cost analysis for construction projects, ensuring accurate product costing and supporting strategic decisions. This on‑site position reports to senior management and works closely with operations, finance and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit reports on raw material costs, production batches and inventory transactions.
• Collect and analyse data to determine the cost of all company products.
• Compare planned costs with actual production costs and report variances.
• Maintain fixed‑assets registers and perform depreciation analysis.
• Monitor cycle‑count processes and investigate standard‑cost variances.
• Produce periodic and ad‑hoc costing reports for management.
• Support budgeting, spending monitoring and cost‑benefit decision making.
• Estimate product costs for existing and new items and forecast labor, process and inventory expenses.
• Identify and propose cost‑reduction or profitability‑enhancing solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–7 years of experience as a Senior Cost Accountant or Cost Analyst.
• Strong background in construction costing.
• Excellent analytical ability with attention to detail.
• Effective time‑management and communication skills.
