Country Quality Manager

About the role

The Country Quality Manager leads manufacturing quality across the country operation, reporting directly to the GM office. This senior position ensures safe, compliant, and high‑quality production while driving Built‑In Quality (BIQ) initiatives and cross‑functional issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the country manufacturing quality strategy in line with GM standards and corporate objectives.
• Provide leadership for plant quality systems, quality operations, quality engineering, and launch readiness.
• Implement and sustain BIQ, monitor key quality metrics, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead cross‑functional problem‑solving for quality issues and coordinate recovery actions to meet plant and regional targets.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Program Quality teams to strengthen quality performance.
• Support new program launches by ensuring quality controls and processes are in place before ramp‑up.
• Escalate major quality risks promptly and collaborate with regional and global quality teams to share best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing quality, quality operations, or quality engineering.
• Proven ability to lead large quality teams and align activities with local, divisional, and corporate policies.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and launch quality expectations.
