Credit Analyst

About the role

Coface, a global trade credit insurer, is hiring a Credit Analyst in Cairo. The role assesses debtor risks and keeps the debtor portfolio up to date, controls and optimises internal and external resources, and works with Underwriters to keep the Debtor Risk Assessment (DRA) coherent with the risk exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Handle worklist tasks and e-mail exchanges with Underwriting in a timely way, respecting SLAs
• Create classical enquiry orders on request from Underwriting
• Check source scores and the consistency of DRAs and write clear, precise DRA reviews, deciding on corrective actions when needed
• Gather additional information such as press information and perform financial and field analysis to support regional development and sector expertise
• Monitor and compile industry data and news, develop country reports and macro-economic studies, and carry out physical visits to key buyers
• Monitor the quality of information received from partners and report on response times
• Contact companies and conduct phone interviews to obtain financial and business information, and liaise with local information providers
• Build and maintain good working relationships with underwriting and information colleagues, and highlight adverse information to underwriters
• Ensure compliance with Coface regulations and external regulator procedures

Required profile

• Graduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in Finance or an equivalent field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, banking, financial services or a credit department is desirable

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word and Excel
