Credit Collections Controller

About the role

SMSUP is hiring a Credit Collections Controller in Maadi, Cairo, on a full-time, on-site basis. The role combines debt collection, credit risk monitoring and cost accounting, working closely with internal teams such as FAM and Legal.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers by phone, email and other channels to collect outstanding debts.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlement agreements in line with company policy.
• Monitor accounts to spot overdue payments and take action.
• Maintain accurate records of collection efforts and customer interactions.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
• Collaborate with FAM and Legal to resolve account issues and liaise with them to submit documents needed for legal action.
• Provide regular reports on collection activity and outstanding accounts.
• Manage relationships with key accounts to secure timely payments.
• Maintain cost accounting systems so that products and services are accurately costed.
• Assess and monitor credit risk for new and existing customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in credit and collections or a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of credit risk management and collection processes.
• Ability to study and identify the operating costs of machines and equipment, and to understand the manufacturing and commercial industries.
• Business acumen: solid grasp of the industry, market dynamics and key drivers of performance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau, and data visualization best practices.
