Data Scientist

About the role

Vodafone Egypt’s consumer marketing team is looking for a Data Scientist to drive data‑driven decision making across the business. You will join a multidisciplinary data science group, collaborating with engineers and product managers to turn large‑scale data into actionable insights that shape products, services and offers for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify commercial opportunities and define analytics initiatives that meet business requirements.
• Translate complex data sets into strategic insights and present findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Design, build, test, deploy and maintain data science pipelines and predictive models.
• Mentor colleagues on statistical techniques, algorithms and data sources.
• Collaborate with technology teams to integrate solutions into production environments.
• Monitor emerging analytics trends and promote innovative approaches such as Design Thinking and Agile.

Required profile

• Passion for working with large data sets and solving unstructured business problems.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑directed and able to own tasks from conception to delivery.
• Strong ability to formulate hypotheses, draw conclusions and communicate results clearly.
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with fluency in English.

Required skills

• Big Data technologies: Hadoop MapReduce, interactive SQL on Hadoop, NoSQL databases, Apache Spark.
• Data visualisation tools: Tableau, GIS.
• Statistical modelling and advanced analytics.
