Database Tech Specialist

About the role

Vodafone is looking for a Database Tech Specialist to join its global IT team. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of database environments, ensuring they are secure, performant and resilient.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, migrate and upgrade database systems.
• Monitor performance, tune parameters and implement new releases.
• Enforce security policies and audit user access levels.
• Design and maintain physical database structures and performance plans.
• Develop and test disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Perform regular backup, restore and data‑archiving activities, validating their integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related incidents under pressure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience managing databases.
• Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
• Innovative mindset and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Oracle (or comparable commercial database) administration.
• Experience with relational and non‑relational DBMS.
• Backup and recovery tooling.
• Performance monitoring and tuning.
• Security enforcement and access‑audit procedures.
• Disaster‑recovery planning and testing.
