DCS Application Design Engineer

About the role

AIS is looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join its Industrial Automation team. The engineer contributes to the engineering, configuration, commissioning and lifecycle management of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) across projects, in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation or chemical processing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and perform FAT/SAT of DCS systems (Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Yokogawa CENTUM VP or equivalent)
• Review control narratives, cause and effect matrices, functional design specifications and detailed design documentation
• Configure complex control loops and sequence logic programs
• Perform DCS database engineering, HMI/SCADA graphics development and historian configuration
• Oversee DCS hardware design, including I/O architecture and network topology
• Support FAT/SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up, including loop checking and logic validation
• SIS engineering: review and validate Safety Requirements Specifications and SIL calculations, perform SIS logic engineering and configuration (Triconex, Hima, ABB Hi-Integrity, Rockwell SIL or equivalent)
• Develop proof test procedures and functional safety assessments, and conduct SIL verification calculations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Chemical or a closely related discipline; Master's in Control Systems, Process Automation or Functional Safety is a plus
• At least 3 years of control systems engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, LNG or heavy process industries
• At least 3 years of hands-on DCS engineering on a major platform (Honeywell, Emerson, ABB, Yokogawa, Siemens PCS 7 or equivalent)
• At least 3 years of SIS engineering experience
