Deputy Head of Cyber Defense

About the role

The Deputy Head of Cyber Defense will shape and sustain the organisation's cyber‑defence methodology, ensuring alignment with security regulations and business objectives. Reporting directly to the CISO, this senior leader will guide the Security Operations Center and drive rapid incident response across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and maintain the cyber‑defence framework in line with regulatory requirements.
• Secure senior‑management endorsement for security policies, standards and procedures.
• Investigate cybersecurity incidents, produce findings and recommendations, and raise major incidents to the CISO.
• Lead rapid incident response according to established processes.
• Prepare periodic performance reports based on security‑event analysis.
• Oversee security‑tool projects and deployments to strengthen the security posture.
• Manage the SOC team, including shift planning, operational tool implementation and resource allocation.
• Provide security input for strategic planning and enterprise‑level decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in cyber defence, with proven leadership of SOC teams.
• Strong knowledge of incident response, threat detection and security monitoring.
• Hands‑on expertise with SIEM, endpoint protection and enterprise security tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CISA preferred.
• Excellent analytical, leadership and communication abilities.
