Destination Expert (Luxury Travel Consultant)

About the role

A client of Sutherland, which works with global brands on digital engineering and business process excellence, is hiring a Destination Expert (Luxury Travel Consultant) in Cairo. The client delivers highly personal travel experiences tailored to each client, with local private guides ensuring an authentic journey. This is a full-cycle consultative sales role, guiding clients from the first discovery call to post-travel follow-up, and is described as high-touch and non-pushy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead in-depth discovery conversations to understand each client's travel goals, style and preferences
• Design bespoke itineraries in collaboration with in-destination teams
• Present proposals confidently, using storytelling to highlight the client's unique offerings
• Guide clients through the booking process and keep communication seamless
• Act as a trusted travel advisor before, during and after client journeys
• Follow up after travel to gather feedback, drive referrals and build loyalty

Required profile

• 2+ years of consultative sales experience in travel, ideally with luxury or high-ticket clients (travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, cruise or airline companies)
• 1+ year as a group or private tour guide in countries such as Egypt, UK, France, Italy, Morocco, Jordan, Oman, UAE, Greece or Malta
• Experience in luxury travel or hospitality, such as acting as a guide or travel sales agent
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills
• Proven ability to close complex sales cycles and exceed revenue targets
• Self-motivated, performance-driven, comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
