Director of Housekeeping

About the role

The Director of Housekeeping leads all housekeeping operations for a hotel property in Cairo, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and employee zones are clean, well‑maintained, and meet brand standards. This senior management position oversees staff, budgets, and quality control to drive guest satisfaction and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily housekeeping activities, including room assignments, cleaning schedules, and public‑area upkeep.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, control inventory, and ensure cost‑effective use of supplies.
• Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms and public spaces, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Lead recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of housekeeping staff.
• Maintain compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and safety procedures.
• Communicate operational priorities to the team and coordinate with other hotel departments.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of housekeeping or related experience, **or** a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field combined with 3 years of experience.
• Proven ability to manage a team, budgets, and inventory in a hospitality environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
