Director of Restaurants

About the role

The Mövenpick Hotel Cairo-Media City in 6th of October City, Egypt, is looking for an experienced Director of Restaurants to lead its restaurant operations. The role covers the entire restaurant portfolio, driving operational excellence, financial performance and customer experience, and sets the vision for the dining establishments while managing a talented team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans to optimise restaurant performance, profitability and market positioning
• Oversee operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management and vendor relationships
• Manage P&L statements and budgets, analyse performance metrics and implement cost-control measures
• Recruit, train, mentor and motivate restaurant management teams and staff
• Maintain quality assurance standards, food safety compliance and brand guidelines
• Drive customer satisfaction initiatives and collaborate with culinary teams on menus, pricing and seasonal offerings
• Monitor KPIs, sales trends and operational metrics, and represent the organisation at industry events
• Run regular performance reviews, handle crises and resolve operational challenges

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive experience in restaurant operations and management
• 3+ years in a director-level or senior management position in hospitality
• Proven expertise in P&L management, financial analysis and budgeting
• Preferred: ability to manage multiple locations simultaneously and knowledge of the Egyptian market and regional dining trends

• Restaurant management systems, point-of-sale (POS) technology and inventory management software
• Vendor negotiation and cost management
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and organisational skills
